Living Room Lighting Setup Advice
Living room lighting
Fifteen fixtures for the room people actually sit in — a pool of light over the sofa, something sculptural overhead, and a lamp for the corner nobody wants to walk past. Every hardwired piece runs on AC 110–240V and is rated for indoor use.
Layering the room
Start with a ceiling anchor: Lux Halo, Luma Butterfly or Lava for pendants; Oslo, Cove, Lava Orb or Akari heteroideus for chandeliers; Aura for a wood-blade ceiling fan with an integrated light. Then fill the edges — Sunset Arc or Lava Melt for floor lamps, Cloud or Noma for tables, Slim Linear LED or Chrome Double-Head for walls.
How the pieces differ
The pendants lean on shape and shade material (washi paper, fabric, acrylic, polycarbonate, crystal). The floor lamps lean on reach: Sunset Arc throws light 51.2" to 66.9" from the wall, Lava Melt is a compact sculptural column. Table lamps are the portable option — Cloud and Noma are plug-in and cordless.
Before the install
Chandeliers here run 39.4" and 100 cm across. Check your ceiling height and the fixture weight against the electrical box, and decide the drop before the installer arrives.
